Ethical Conduct
- Do not use unfair means.
- Backend systems will track multiple aspects of your test taking in real time. There will be zero tolerance for any infraction.
Exam Type and Terms of Reference:
- The exam is online, self paced, open book, and non proctored.
- Financial calculators are allowed. You can take the exam from any locationyou choose (or as decided by your institution).
- An internet connection is mandatory for the exam. Please inform your IT Administrator about this in advance.
Exam Configuration
- Comp-XM is similar to Capstone. Here you would run a business (simpler and miniaturized as compared to Capstone) of your own, individually as the CEO. Please refer to the exam guide (pdf document)
- In your exam, you run a business (like we did on Capstone) but for four rounds (i.e., four financial years). The business decisions for the four years are made on the Comp-XM spreadsheet.
Exam Structure
The Exam Follows the Following Sequence. After Going to Capsim > Comp-XM > Exam Dashboard:
- Make decisions on Round 1 on Comp-XM. Then answer the Board Queries for Round 1. Then turn in Round 1 and advance to Round 2.
- Make decisions on Round 2. Then answer the Board Queries 2. Then turn in Round 2 and advance to Round 3.
- Make decisions on Round 3. Then answer the Board Queries 3. Then turn in Round 3 and advance to Round 4
- Make decisions on Round 4. Then answer the Board Queries 4. Then turn in Round 4 and advance to Final Round
- Then Answer the Final Board Queries and turn in the exam.
Important Points
- Before the Exam –

- A stable internet connection and a reliable laptop/computer are mandatory for taking the test.
- Login to Capsim.com. Click on Comp-XM. Please see the introductory video, About the Simulation, About Board Queries, Scoring and Getting Set Up.
- Then, launch the Comp-XM software on or after the start time. In Comp-XM you are all part of the Andrews Corporation (irrespective of your teams).
- During the Exam –

- The Industry Conditions Report and Enquirer is unique for every test taker.
- You would see The Enquirer for round 0, (Enquirer is Capstone Courier’s equivalent in Comp-XM). Based upon The Enquirer for round 0 you shall make decisions in the Comp-XM software for round 1 and then answer Board Queries 1 on www.capsim.com under Exam Dashboard. Then based on the Enquirer for Round 1 make decisions for Round 2 on Comp-XM and so on.
- Save Official Decisions in the simulation every time before proceeding to the next round.
- Check your decisions under the Decisions tab > Decision Summary before submitting each round to ensure all decisions have been captured as intended. After submission, no changes can be made, and participants cannot go back to the previous round.
- After the CompXM deadline, no further inputs will be permitted. Ensure you submit the final round well before the deadline.
- In case you face a technical issue, capture the complete screenshot with computer/laptop date and time visible on the bottom right hand corner.
- After the Exam –

- Your final score on the exam will be calculated on:
- Total points earned from the Balanced Scorecard (simulation): 500 Marks
- Total points earned from the Board Queries (questions): 500 Marks
- Total: 1000 Marks
- Results of board queries and the overall exam will be shared with your institute after the exam deadline.
